Iris Lynne Sherman , originally from Pittsburgh, PA, is a graduate of Point Park University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance. Iris is currently a Teaching Artist for the Disney Performing Arts and Education Program. The program is partnered with the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) to create an educational experience that aligns with their national standards for the arts. More than 45,000 students participate yearly in this inspirational backstage experience of the world of professional entertainers.
Iris has judged for numerous national dance and talent competitions including Starpower, Rainbow, Missouri Dance Team Association, Champion Tours and Events, Contest of Champions, Nexstar, Tremaine, Oklahoma State Dance Team Championship, Americheer, to name a few. Iris also had the honor of judging on the inaugural panel of the 2011 World Dance Championship Series hosted by the Federation of Dance Competitions in Dallas, Texas.
Along with judging national dance and cheer competitions, Iris also teaches master classes for studios across the United States.
Her stage credits include “A Chorus Line”, Dick Clark’s “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”, ABC’s “New Years Around the World- Millinea Celebration”, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Principal and Corps de Ballet for the American Dance Ensemble, Pleasure Island Explosion Dancers, Kids of the Kingdom, and the World Dancers of Epcot at Walt Disney World.
As a professional stunt woman and actress, Iris can be seen in Jeepers Creepers, Out of Time, Bachelor Party 2, Sheena, The Glades and Burn Notice, along with several commercials, industrials, and musical reviews in the United States and abroad. Iris is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the Actors Equity Association (AEA).
